We were delighted when lifestyle blogger Lynsay Loves agreed to share her beautiful home with hous. and tell us more about her inspiration. Lynsay lives in Glasgow and shares her home with Gary and instagram superstar cat Bosley. Lynsay’s home is full of bright colours which reminds me of images of vintage Palm Springs; acid blue with orange, hot pink and flashes of green.
Lynsay explains more about the inspiration behind her interior –
“My home decor is influenced by mid-century modern design elements mixed with my own style. I love bright splashes of colour and creating a fun, inspiring space that I can both relax and work in. Shops-wise, I enjoy combining designer & high-street pieces with one-off finds and DIY. Supporting indie businesses is also important to me, so I like to showcase items (framed artwork, for example) by local makers.”
We love the way Lynsay has used paint to add brightness and colour into the room without it being too much. The white balances the bright colours perfectly and we love how Lynsay has used accessories to express her own style and personality.
Lynsay has also used her creativity to customise her furniture; seen here with the genius idea of covering the back of her inset bookcase with a fantastic print wrapping paper from ikea for a grand total of £1.50. Just shows you that you don’t need a huge budget to make a big impact in your home!
More on how she did this over on her blog.
Lynsay has also used bright colour in her bathroom and combined with a bold botanical print shower curtain, offset with the clean graphic tiles. She has used some artificial plants in the bathroom to add some greenery with great success.
We hope you love Lynsay’s home as much as we do! Let us know what you think.
Thanks to Lynsay for letting us feature your home on the hous. blog. Check out more on the Lynsay Loves blog!
